# Eberhard Arnold 1920 ยท Overview Eberhard Arnold, a Protestant theologian, founded the Bruderhof with Emmy Arnold and Else von Hollander in 1920. They left Berlin for Sannerz after the devastation of the First World War. Inspired by the first Christians in Jerusalem, they began a shared life with a small group of believers.
