# Felix Manz

1527 · Overview

Felix Manz helped shape the early Zürich fellowship and shared its conviction that baptism should follow faith. Martyrs’ Mirror calls him Felix Mantz and describes his preaching, imprisonment, and death by drowning at Zürich.

His preserved admonition gives a fuller picture of his convictions than the execution alone. He insists that Christian profession must bear the fruit of love and mercy, including love toward enemies, and rejects hatred and coercion as the work of Christ’s shepherds.

The original account prints 1526. This profile retains the separately cited 1527 date used in the Zürich overview, while linking directly to the unchanged account so both date statements remain visible.
