# John Wycliffe

1370: teaching in the source account · Overview

Martyrs’ Mirror calls this English teacher John Wickliffe and places a discussion of his teaching at 1370. It describes his service at Lutterworth and considers his writings on baptism, the Lord’s Supper, the authority of Scripture, and the swearing of oaths.

The fifteenth-century account returns to his writings when explaining the articles received by John Huss. Linking those two passages allows the reader to follow a stated transmission of teaching from one century into the next, while retaining the book’s own wording and explanation.
