# Sicke Snyder

1531 in overview; c. 1533 in Martyrs’ Mirror · Overview

Sicke Snyder received baptism upon his faith and was imprisoned at Leeuwarden in Friesland. Martyrs’ Mirror describes his refusal to abandon that confession under pressure and his death by the sword.

The supplied overview calls him Sicke Freerks Snijder, dates the execution to 1531, and relates its influence on Menno Simons’s study of baptism. The book’s heading gives 1533 and its narrative says about that year. Both source statements remain visible here.
