# Danzig and Prussian Mennonites Sixteenth-century settlement ยท Overview The photographed timeline follows Dutch Mennonite lines into Danzig and Prussia. Congregations in the Vistula region included differing Flemish and Frisian traditions, so this geographical label does not identify a single denomination. Letters preserved by Mennonite Heritage Archives connect Prussian congregations with the early Chortitza settlement. They include correspondence from 1789 and a 1791 letter from the Danzig Flemish church. These documents let readers follow migration through the voices of the communities involved.
