# Swiss Brethren

1525 · Overview

The Swiss Brethren emerged in the context of the Zürich baptisms and early Swiss Anabaptism. Later Swiss Mennonite and Amish histories share this background.

The later history includes refuge outside Switzerland and migration to other parts of Europe and North America. The branch explorer follows Swiss and South German ancestry into Mennonite and Amish histories, while the source accounts retain the names and experiences of individual witnesses.
