About this time, also a brother named Hans den
Duytsch was apprehended at Antwerp; who freely
confessed his faith, and would firmly adhere to it;
for he chose rather to die a temporal death for the
truth, and thus gain eternal life, than to purchase a
short wicked life with everlasting death. They had
him beheaded in the prison, whereupon they, like
madmen, threw his body into the Scheldt.
