Anabaptist Church History

The living Anabaptist family · event

Anabaptist history is still being written

The present-day story includes communities across continents and many different traditions. Local histories, migrations, mission, and relationships between churches are part of the record still being gathered.

The later pages of the supplied exhibit carry this history beyond Europe and North America to congregations and mission in Java, India, Congo, Argentina, and other countries. Refugees, missionaries, families, teachers, and relief workers all appear in that continuing story. Their experiences connect the older witness of faith and nonresistance with new places and responsibilities.

The living history includes worship, mutual aid, the teaching of children, care for people in danger, and the formation of new congregations and fellowships. Named branches have distinct local records and relationships that can be explored through their pages. Dated archival documents and firsthand accounts allow this record to grow without treating the exhibit’s older membership statistics as present-day totals.
