Mennonite Church USA forms
Mennonite Church USA formed in 2002 through the union of U.S. congregations of MC and GC.
Mennonite Church USA formed in 2002 when U.S. congregations from the Mennonite Church and General Conference Mennonite Church entered a new denominational organization. The two names appear separately on the supplied branch chart because each had a substantial history before the union.
The union supplies a later chapter for those particular U.S. church streams. Their archives preserve the earlier conferences, congregations, schools, missions, and shared institutions through which that history can be followed. Other Anabaptist fellowships and national church histories continued along their own paths, and the broader timeline keeps those continuing lines visible beside the new organization.
