Gerard Sagarellus

Gerard Sagarellus of Parma appears in Martyrs’ Mirror alongside Dulcinus in the discussion of those whose beliefs were associated with the Waldenses. The account emphasizes his refusal to abandon his confession under condemnation.

The heading gives 1285 for his execution at Parma. The narrative qualifies the year of his death with “it is supposed,” so the profile retains that uncertainty. It also distinguishes his death from Dulcinus’s later suffering rather than placing both men in one event.
