John Huss
Also searchable as: Jan Hus · John Hus
John Huss is discussed in Martyrs’ Mirror’s fifteenth-century account of faith and baptism. It relates how Jerome of Prague brought Wickliffe’s writings from England into Bohemia and sets out the articles Huss received from them, including opposition to oaths.
The book also records the deaths of Huss and Jerome at Constance, then carefully distinguishes their witness from the wars taken up by later followers. Its discussion follows Waldenses who had joined the movement and subsequently separated when that course conflicted with their commitment to peace.
