The Schleitheim Articles

The Schleitheim Articles set out seven points of agreement for a gathered Anabaptist community, including baptism, communion, church discipline, and refusal of the sword.

The 1527 Schleitheim Articles were written as a document of union. They are associated with Michael Sattler and the Swiss Brethren.

The articles address baptism, the ban, breaking of bread, separation, shepherds, the sword, and oaths. They help readers understand a form of Anabaptist discipleship while leaving room to investigate differences among other early groups.
