Adrian, teacher opposed to infant baptism
Adrian appears in Martyrs’ Mirror’s seventh-century discussion of baptism. A letter attributed to Gregory the Great accuses him of ordering that infants should not be baptized, and the book places the proceedings about the close of 606.
The account explicitly leaves the extent of his punishment unsettled. It records his willingness to face a serious charge for his conviction, while acknowledging that the available passage does not establish whether he suffered a corporal penalty or death. His timeline date therefore marks the proceedings.
