Balthasar Hubmaier
Balthasar Hubmaier appears in the supplied Nikolsburg overview as a teacher who allowed the sword to political rulers, in contrast with believers who rejected participation in violence. The disagreement forms part of the background to the separation of the Stäbler group.
A separate caption follows his arrest, examination, and death by burning at Vienna on 10 March 1528. These linked episodes preserve both his place in the debate and the persecution he suffered.
