Moravia provided a setting for Anabaptist refugee communities and the development of Hutterite common life.

The shared community of goods begun by Anabaptist refugees in 1528 became a central part of Hutterite life. The community drew on the Scriptural accounts of believers sharing possessions and caring for each other.
The Hutterite history follows refuge, persecution, and migration beyond Moravia. This place connects the beginning of communal practice with Jakob Hutter’s story and the later colony history.
