Bible study and the Zürich circle

Lay Bible study in Zürich brought believers together around the Scriptures before the baptisms of 1525. The supplied overview dates these beginnings to 1522 and follows the participation of Conrad Grebel and Felix Manz, with George Blaurock later joining them.

Their reading of Scripture led to questions about how reform should proceed and whom the church should baptize. The later gathering of 21 January 1525 put those convictions into practice through baptism on confession of faith.
